There are many ways to help out!

Volunteer
We have workdays throughout the year and depend on our volunteers to help us unload, sort, and package food for distribution. If you are interested in volunteering or if you would like to bring a group from your business or organization, please let us know.

Food drives are a vital part of our program. We depend on receiving items such as cereal and peanut butter to better serve children in need.
If your business, church, or organization would like to host a food drive please contact us.

spring break food 4 kids
During the Summer months, we provide food weekly to children in the River Valley. The food consists of cereal, peanut butter, tuna, crackers, fresh produce, and healthy snacks. We provide enough food for two meals per day to each child. In 2020, we provided over 150,000 meals to children during their Summer break.
During the school year, RVF4K runs the weekend Backpack Program in Russellville, Atkins, Pottsville, Dover, & Hector School Districts. This includes items like mac&cheese, ramen, healthy snacks, fruits and vegetables, and more. This program serves over 1,000 children annually.
During the Holiday Break, many families struggle to feed their children. RVF4K provides a separate distribution where families are able to come and "shop" for the foods that they need to cover the entirety of their Holiday Break. In 2020, we provided 50,000 meals during the holiday season.
Spring break is another difficult time for children dealing with poverty and food insecurity. This week out of school means no free breakfast and lunch each day. To fill this gap, we provide extra food to be sent home by the schools during this break. This program provides meals for approximately 1,000 children.
